Smile stores

Don't know much about the stores in Austin yet but IKEA (Roundrock) is very well priced for furniture.
They also deliver (for a price) to a 30 mile radius too.

I havent shopped there yet, but some of my friends swear by four hands as being a great value.

Four Hands - Austin Headquarters (http://www.fourhands.com/gallery/headquarters.html - broken link)

Depending on what level of quality you want:

Rooms to go/room store
Havertys/star furniture
louis shanks, jw interiors

I think someone posted on this messageboard before North Carolina Discount Furniture Stores NC Online Furniture Shopping Outlet which has the same stuff as louis shanks and jw and 40% off. Louis shanks has a 50% off one item sale once a year and typically have 40% off sales pretty often.

I like Z-gallerie in orange county (ca) but the one that opened in Austin just doesnt seem to be as nice.

I can recommend Four Hands. We have bought a dining table set and some sofas, chairs and ornaments there.

Four Hands caters mostly for those who like ethnic/modern style.

The value is great - especially compard with UK prices!

Also try Ethnic Loft on W.Koenig.

But I am also lookng for good sources of 2nd hand furniture in Austin too - any more recommendations?

Cheapest and best are mutually exclusive.

I couldn't remember this place but coincidentally just heard their annual commercial this morning...

Four Hands Furniture is a wholesaler that supplies Pottery Barn. They have an annual 75% off warehouse sale. They do not sale to the public except for one weekend a year and this weekend is it for '07. So if you like PB stuff, you might want to check it out...Four Hands Home

Some one at work was just talking about a consignment store in Lakeway. They said it had some really good deals. They couldn't remember the name, but I suppose I could yellowpage it if I get motivated .
