My husband and I are considering a move to the Atlanta area. We will be visiting the area in November and would like to narrow our search area. Would like recommendations on which suburbs to visit. Need to be close to airport as he will by flying in/out every week, family-oriented environment and prefer house with a yard (not neighborhoods with houses right on top of one another). We are looking to spend up to $300K. Any suggestions?

I like East Point if you are planning to send your kids to a private school or you do not have any. It is very close to the airport and there is something very charming and hip about it.

Peachtree city or other city in Fayette county. A lot of Delta pilots live in those neighborhood and public schools are good by Georgia standard.

Default Best suburbs close to airport for family??

My husband and I are looking to move to the Atlanta area. We want to visit in November and need to narrow our search areas. We're looking for an area that has good schools, is family-oriented and is less than 45 minutes away from the airport as he will be flying in/out every week. Any suggestions?

Um, maybe I'm missing something but isn't Kennesaw and Marietta a gazillion miles away from the airport? It sounds like KyRhys needs something a little closer.

Yeah if you want to be close to the airport you shouldn't look at Kennesaw. Try Peachtree city or Fayetteville. Good schools, low crime, close to airport.

how close to the airport do you need to be? what is your budget? are schools important? all important variables that you need to consider. 10 miles from the airport you will find Inman Park, Virginia Highlands, Midtown, Grant Park, and many other neighborhoods that not only have great homes, but great potential for you to make some money.
