I don't see a problem with a police officer at every school, I actually had a couple at my highschool anyway, but it's become a money issue.
It wouldn't cost a lot if you asked 1 police officier from a local station to just be at a security post at a school. Doesn't cost a lot, it's simple, the Federal Government doesn't need to be involved.

Why can't people get it: we dont need more restrictions of our constitutional rights.
More restrictions don't /won't make criminals commit less crimes because they don't follow the laws. Only one's that suffer are law abiding citizens because not only would we lose our freedom to enjoy our guns for whatever shooting sport we enjoy but we also are easier victums for criminals (and others).
One solution for those who don't want to live in a country where responsible gun owners founded and defend themselves is simply to move to one of those countries where guns are prohibited. They should feel more comfortable in their new country.

What do you mean, "doesn't cost a lot" in your statement? Of course, it costs a LOT. There are thousands of schools across the country--elementary, middle and high schools, plus colleges. It would cost a great deal of money to police every school. And who says one police officer would be enough in a big school?

Personally, I think the NRA should pay for policing schools if that is what is decided.

One police officer said that over the course of his career, he'd been involved in the confiscation of 50,000 weapons of one kind or another. The number of illegally converted auto? Zero. Out of 50,000.

It's not a large problem.
They are pretty strict about fully automatic machine gun laws here. Remember Atlanta rapper T.I. recieved almost 2 years in prison plus parole time and heavy fines just for attempting to buy fully automatic machine guns.

It was all over the national news.

He was receiving death threats from some really serious gang members (the police had even alerted him about these guys). And thought he needed them to protect his family.
