So it's okay to use hundreds of millions of dollars in public funding to create a monolith structures that walls out the people who live next door to it?

What's wrong with an open air stadium that allows local folks to watch the game at a reduced rate? Why shouldn't it be built so that local residents can at least walk up and buy a beer and a hot dog or use the bathroom? How will local residents be allowed to participate in the concession business? How will they be allowed to express their opinions on the design, placement and operation of the stadium? Are they excluded from that as well?

Or is this just another facility for the well heeled, crammed into a poor minority neighborhood?

A great way to keep the locals at bay.

I would like to see additional designs.

But of the two, the Solarium design looks like a barn. Its not impressive unless it is open. Even then its not really impressive, but I would imagine the experience for the fans would be great on a day with good weather.

That pantheon design though. Man, I still don't know if I like the way it looks. There is nothing natural looking about it. Reminds me of that Olympic stadium over in China which I never cared for. BUT, it is impressive. It does make one go, WHOA. The interior with the screens along the upper rim is amazing looking. That alone would change the entire experience of the game. That is some future stuff, that would set the stadium leagues above others. Biggest no, large animated signs along the side advertising stadium sponsors. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT.

In short, I have never been to a Falcons game and will likely only go if I get free decent seats. But if they go with the pantheon design, I will probably go see one game just to experience the building. And I think that make it the best choice.

Let's remember how much of a failure of vision the 17th Street bridge was. That was a chance to build a local landmark, but in the end, all we got was a basic, utilitarian bridge just like every other bridge except it was panited yellow.

Now we have another chance to build a landmark, except this time it is on an exponentially grander scale and will be internationally visible.

With that in mind, how is it possible that some of you want to build an oversized horse barn?

Our team is named after a bird, so a birds nest design is appropriate.

I wonder how all that glass (in both designs) would hold up to the hair storms we seem to have every few months.

The GWCC Authority, the COA government, the Falcons management and the architects need to take a refresher course on environmental justice. Both of these proposals are exactly what the city doesn't need.

Yeah, 1 minute to the solarium. 2.5 minutes to the pantheon along with fireworks. That was one biased video. Its like they were required to come up with two designs and the solarium just filled the quota.
