That does seem absurd. I thought more was proposed for that space in initial plans?!

We are working on convincing them of this too!!

It is crazy how loud people have had to fight over this rather silly issue IMO. The picture posted jsvh is the one that all of us in the affected neighborhoods have been rallying for.

Very proud of my neighbors for being active in speaking to media and protesting the original ideas. We were really being ignored until we decide to take immediate, consistent action on this. But really I am not going to call it a victory until I see the final plan.

Nice work! Good to see signs that this is making progress (But yeah, don't give up until it is finalized).

Sometimes you gotta make a little noise to get your point across!

i like *most* of the idea. where i disagree is creating a 'path trail' between two parking decks. that eliminates the plaza that's already there (which is supposed to become a major hotel site), and doesn't really connect vine city to downtown at all.

They still have a hotel in there if you look. I think re-connecting the street grid should take priority of a hotel in that one location. There are lots of available parcels around.

I agree with this in regards to the street grid. We really want to solidify the street grid pattern and infrastructure improvement needed to sustain this stadium and ensure connectivity prior to them beginning construction on this stadium. I would like to see it set in stone within the next couple months and have all of this settled.

As other articles posted about this have indicated, they have already demolished the bridge on MLK leading to downtown. It is interesting how fast they can do such a costly job in demolishing a bridge yet they cannot give us a finalized plan/rendering of the street grid. How can one do street design without a solidified design plan? Also, all of those who always say the city doesn't have money to do this or that, where did they get the money to do something that is not on the 5 year capital improvement plan for the city? They can secretly pull money out of their behind to do the things they truly want to do it seems.
