What does being gay have to do with it? I'm not arguing, just asking.

Not sure what he meant by that, "gay thugs" maybe. We did notice quite a few young black gay men at AS with sagging skinny jeans, but that doesn't bother me-they were dancing to the live music and creating a scene. My daughter was laughing and tried to dance with them

Lord knows I'm no expert but I would assume the same percentage of thugs are gay as in the rest of the population. I wouldn't hold the gay part against them, however.

A-hem. Strictly from a sartorial point of view, how would one "sag" skinny jeans? I would've thought the point of skinny jeans is the lack of sag.

It's certainly possible. All the middle-school kids in Candler Park who are into the skater punk scene wear skinny jeans with chains, etc, and they can't seem to keep them up.

I hate that style but all the kids I know who wear this are actually nice kids so I have to chalk it up to generational styles.

Afterall, my mom HATED the striped tights with the pink jean skirt I used to wear...

If you mean highrise offices than I agree, but then that doesnt help with the issues at nighttime which is why AS is considered ghetto. I dont think anyone is saying AS is ghetto during the day. But either way the turnaround is going well and there has been noticeable improvement. K-saw I agree with you that a bunch of it is just perception and racism, BUT when some guy is yelling "hey shorty" to my 29 year old wife (it happened once when we were there) its not a place I love to frequent and def not a place my wife would feel comfortable going to with another female friend. I guess a lot of people's beef including mine is the youth culture (and this is seen more from the lower income youth-regardless of race) but of being very loud, cursing, and hollering at females regardless of who is around.
Just a few days it was announced that the Atlantic is going rental: Atlantic Station condos will become apartments - Atlanta Business Chronicle

I just visited Atlantic Station this past Saturday for the first time. My family was in town so we did all kinds of first time things downtown and ate at countless restaurants and gained countless pounds, but I digress.

I loved Atlantic Station! It was decorated so pretty with lights for Christmas and we saw Santa and my kids rode the train too. We just mostly browsed in all of the stores and I didn't feel unsafe at all. I thought it was a neat area but don't forget, I'm from Buffalo where we have no outdoor malls or shopping centers so I'm completely enamored with all of those types of outdoor shopping areas.

There was only one incident I noticed where a guy was driving slowly down the street and yelled at a young woman walking down the sidewalk who completely ignored him. Why do men who yell from cars think we will be enamored with that anyway?

Have to say that I loved that the weather during Thanksgiving week was in the 60's and 70's while my family was visiting. (We won't get into the last few days but I'm not complaining!)

I think people are hating on AS. You never hear people bring up problems that other areas have but when it happens in AS people freak out
