Isn't it bizarre humans still believe in God? (children, reject, beliefs)

Sounds like the situation in the USA since the rise of the Religious Right.
Troo Dat. I watched a video once explaining that the USA seems to be full of committees of science skeptics who won't believe anything they can't see for themselves. Unless of course it's preached to them by religious authority.

That's not everyone. This is an American website forum with mostly American posters. The percentages of secularists is growing here and everywhere. Don't forget the masses in places like India and Africa who are eager to believe something and not much willing (or able?) to believe in science.
Indeed, but America is a worry because it is a Western nation that seems out of step with the rest. And the problem with the committees - in the video - was that they had official standing to decide policy.

Remember, America was settled by religious nutjobs who came here for the "freedom of religion."
Unfortunately, the enlightenment rationalists that founded this country inadvertently created a haven for every group of religious lunatics in Europe. The rest is history.
Who or what else started all this? How did the molecule get here?
How did the Who or what get there? This First Cause argument leands nowhere, becauase if you say that the Who was always there, we'll say that a What must always have been there.

It's a sad fact that Church of England authority, with all its' faults, stopped individual crackpot groups building up their own authority. It seems that just having non -belief means a population without a religion just right for conversion, but an already established religion already gives them one.

That's not entirely true. Many came here for economic opportunities. The ones who came here for religious reasons often did so because the religious nutjobs who remained in Europe and Britain were killing people for having ever so slightly different religious beliefs than whatever religious "authorities" had the most power at the time. For instance, there was Henry VIII's desire to dip his pen in more official inkwells for the purpose of fathering a male heir. We'll never know how many people died in the name of religion for that psychopath. May he roast in hell.
True. America was originally a series of economic ventures. Notable in the south with Jamestown, Virginia and Georgia, all named after British -based rulers, But the Puritan influence is more a New England thing and while we saw what it led to in Salem, it also produced Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and Paine. Though they were the atheists of the time (Deists) and their ideas came from the Enlightenment.
