I just discovered from a few google searches that this CityData forum is very PC and leftist, which makes sense considering the political and intellectual dishonesty I've seen here so far. It wouldn't surprise me if most on here are liberals who don't want more conservatives moving to Arizona, so they try to discourage people and skew public opinion.

If Phoenix was a right wing mecca with only people voting for Arpaio and disliking non white people, wouldn't this forum reflect that?

You should go to the POC forum, it's all GOP nuts. I have fun with them on a regular basis.

aiden91, there _might_ be a tiny grain of truth to what you said, but I encourage you to spend a bit (maybe a lot) more time reading through some of the posts here in the Arizona section before you make such a blanket statement like that. You have run into a few posters in this thread that _might_ fit your description, but overall throughout this section, it is fairly balanced, at least sometimes, lol.

Check out this thread for some laughs:

I think Arizona politically is mainly a common sense state. I don't really think that most Arizonans care to draw political lines based upon party affiliation. We want to be more independent than all that. Ann Kirkpatrick comes to mind. She was a Democrat elected in a rural area that one would think would lean Republican.

I do agree with you about some of the reasons you may want to move here. I did the same in 1996. Among other things, it was the gun laws that pushed me over the edge.

HOWEVER, I do not agree with your allusion that Arizona is some sort of 'white power' haven. It is not. There may be some small pockets, but that can be true in many states. Personally, the only race I identify with is the Human race. I do not see the whole country as just black and white.

I am writing too much, quitting while I am . . . . ____________ fill in the blank, lol.

LOTS of us came from CA (and other stifling states) - in order to live liberty. The minor inconveniences are FAR outweighed by the Freedom.

Even though you may not see a lot of posts in this regard on this forum - it is the view of MANY.
Every time I log in here there are quick reps to this post...

With all due respect Detroit and JGM - you are off base. We get it, you don't like the fact that it's true - and the reasons aren't important to you... But that doesn't negate the fact that lots of people feel this way - and yes, move here because of it. Try as you might, you won't change it.

Your (fabricated) suggestion that people move here for politics implies that we are far leaning one way or another - so yes you did. So then enlighten us, why would someone move to moderate Phoenix for our political climate?
My post (that you refuse to accept) says everything I need to say... Your banter is getting tiresome.

You need to get some other hobbies... In the mean time, yes I'll say what I want and owe you nothing, deal with it.

Sorry that this isn't the xenophobic old boys club you had hoped it would be. Until you add something of substance, demonstrating that Phoenix is some far right wing nut haven, you've added nothing to this discussion but insults.

Given what you just wrote, I think you love liberal cities, and Phoenix is not liberal. No matter how badly you want it to be. You can kick, scream, and whine all you want but all the tantrums in the world isn't going to change the facts. Phoenix has been home to conservatives since forever. It's the home of Barry Goldwater. You clearly have an agenda, and are an ideologue as well. If Phoenix was truly "progressive" like you say then Arpaio would've been ousted, Trump wouldn't have a huge following, and Latinos wouldn't be complaining about "racism" constantly.

Here's some Phoenix "right wing nut haven" for you (I prefer 'sane haven', but to each their own)

And there are many other examples.

The fact that you portray Phoenix as being progressive, despite the fact that Phoenix and Arizona itself has had huge issues with race and illegal immigration for decades and continues to, is laughable.
