Where I work is kinda on a hill and I can see all over the Valley but more easterly. Was watching the cloud formations over Sedona yesterday and they were right down on the Redrocks. It was sooo pretty. Mingus Mtn. was pretty clouded over too. It's no wonder this is my favorite time of year. Wet and cloudy but just warm enough, unlike winter.
Yeah it was I was at the park at 3pm and hardly broke a sweat in Phoenix in JULY!! A few days ago a storm that came in, the clouds were so low that it swallowed up the Four Peaks. It was impressive but this weather should start clearing up soon for Phoenix. I know this weather is pretty common where you are during this time of year right? It's just a good thing that as soon as it clears up for us another week of storms rolls in but it'll be a bit hotter.

This weather is sometimes "common", sometimes not. Honestly, I don't recall from year to year but yeah, July is generally pretty wet. Our forecast for the next five days is actually pretty nice, far as rain, etc.. I say "nice" because I LOVE the rain. Today was warm and humid but not at all hot...around 80 I think. Right now it's 73 degrees and 81% humidity. It quit raining around noon today but the "threat" is still there with "possible thunderstorms" over night.

Tomorrow is predicted to be 85 H 67 L and 50% chance of rain. The temp inches up every day to 94 by Fri. with lows from 67-70. LOTS of clouds and dropping from 50% chance of rain down to 20% and partly cloudy on Fri.. In other words, typical Monsoon stuff. Anytime it stays below 100 is good with me!

Sedona and Mingus Mtn. were pretty much clouded in all day. Some really gorgeous views. It actually reminded me a LOT of the Alaska coast in summer today. But a tad warmer! lol

Just moved here to Peoria 5 weeks ago. This was the first rainy day (rained almost all day!) I have endured since I've been here. Took almost all day for temps to rise into the 80's here.

Yesterday was a very unusual day for summer. Rain and clouds all day long with 80s are quite rare in monsoon. More typical is a partly/mostly cloudy day following a big storm event with temps just below 100. All the cloudiness we had in July is odd indeed. More days like yesterday and we would complain a lot less.

I can tell you that this weather with clouds and rain is more common in the Phoenix winter but of course with a 50-60 degree day. It's perfect when the clouds stay inside the heat island keeping the humidety percents up and makes it much more possible to form a storm. It also prevents frm getting too warm and boiding all the clouds away. First they predict after this Tuesday the storms will leave us and the skys will remain clear and hot and sunny. Now they predict 2 days of partly cloudy weather and then another 5 days of thunderstorms ending with 3 days of showers. And this forecast is holding so prepare for the next round.

I expect you're right about this being more like winter with higher temps. It's still cloudy up here today but not as much as the last few days. I can actually see some blue! I hope it stays this way for a while because I am really enjoying it. I'm ready for the next round!

Saw on the weather report this morning that Phx. is going to hit the triple digits again but stay fairly low. That's a good thing for you guys! Even better for US because it'll mean 7-10 degrees cooler here!

Finally got a chance to check my garden and picked some PERFECT zucchinis and tomatoes!! Yay! Time to pull up the onions too.
