Accommodations

The hotel scene in Dallas–Fort Worth differs little from most metropolitan areas. In other words, whatever you want, you can find. If you seek simple and modestly priced lodging, it is widely available. The high-end variety is in plentiful supply, too, from traditional and elegant to modern and sleek. Of course, you can find everything in between, as well.

The majority of Dallas’s most popular lodgings are downtown and in the nearby Uptown area, as these are in demand among convention attendees and tourists. The hotels along Stemmons Freeway serve the Dallas market buyers and Design District patrons, but the downtown and Uptown hotels are nearby, too. North Dallas tends to offer chain hotel options in various price ranges, with a couple of luxury choices, such as the Four Seasons and Omni hotels, in the Las Colinas area. Boutique hotel choices are growing in Dallas, with the bulk in downtown and nearby.

In Fort Worth, luxury lodging is comparatively limited to the Renaissance Worthington, the Ashton, and the Omni, but more hotels are expected in the next few years. The boutique hotel scene is smaller than it should be in a city of this size, but a few new properties in this category are on the horizon.

Note that pet policies differ among the hotels; some allow pets and will charge an extra deposit or fee, while others limit pets according to size or forbid certain breeds. Ask each hotel about policies.

With only noted exceptions, all hotels are ADA-compliant, with some offering a greater degree of accessibility. Many hotels are becoming smoke-free, but a few still offered smoking rooms at press time. All hotels noted here offer cable TV and telephones in rooms.
