Uh....I didn't mean THAT compact of a truck! To me, the BRAT was very close to useless....a little toy truck maybe good for driving to work, but little else. It was just too small to haul lumber and stuff in. As I recall, they even mounted a couple of seats in the bed of the truck...taking up even more of what little room there was. (what were they thinking?)
What I meant was they ought to make a pickup only a LITTLE smaller than the Toyota Tacoma...something small enough to have decent mpg, but still big enough to haul lumber and supplies in...

Yep. Brats were just what their name indicates. They wouldn't be allowed in today's world.

While "Subies" are generally pretty great cars, they're not known for getting great mileage! A combination of the "boxer" engine and the extra weight of the AWD I guess. Still I do like them, their style, uniqueness and ease of handling for AWD.

While AWD will NOT save you in ice or snow, you still have to KNOW HOW TO DRIVE, they can make it easier in many tight spots. It's probably no coincidence that ONE HALF of new cars registrations in Summit County Colorado (low rent towns such as Vail!) are Subarus!

I think the outback is very sharp looking, and also has a terrific ride.
