Anyone ever notice that these strange and miraculous events have never happened again since about 2000 bce? Just an observation...

I thought I'd add a few Native American stories about the creation of the earth, what the heck, they're written down also, so they must be true..
Native American Indian Lore: Old Man at the Beginning2,

Native Lore: The Origin of Earth2,

NativeLore: In the Beginning2

I figure they're just as true as any of the ones that are being posted here..

As to YHWH listening to a man and allowing the sun [and moon] to stand still -nope! It never has and never will happen again. But as to the sun being smitten and burning up life on earth, well, that is coming soon, along with many, many other "signs" in the heavens, and that will begin just after the born again in Christ, Bible Believing Christians, are removed from the midst of the world.

[quote]Joshua 10:12Then spake Joshua to the LORD/YHWH in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. [Is] not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

Quote:
Jasher 88:63-65 Book of Jasher 88

And when they were smiting, the day was declining toward evening, and Joshua said in the sight of all the people, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon, and thou moon in the valley of Ajalon, until the nation shall have revenged itself upon its enemies.
And the Lord hearkened to the voice of Joshua, and the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens, and it stood still six and thirty moments, and the moon also stood still and hastened not to go down a whole day.
And there was no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened to the voice of a man, for the Lord fought for Israel.

Start your own thread for your own stories, as this one is about the Bible and correlating ancient writings about the amazing sun; like the Book of Jasher and 1 Enoch -and also, the Dead Sea Scrolls have correlating manuscripts to those as well as the book of Jubilees.

Yeah, well I figure they're just about as believable as the Native American stories are too.......mythology and folklore...

Well if that's the case let's keep it on topic and here's one about the Sun........Native Lore: The Origin of Light...more mythology, just like yours...

In fact, the word for "world" -"tebel"- in Hebrew means "globe", and the root etymons of it in Hebrew have to do with "swelling" -"bl"- from which "bulb", "ball", "balloon" -and all "swelling" words- come from.
PS: I am not the author of the Bible nor the ancient writings which state that the sun -and stars- rotate around the earth. I'm just putting forth what they do say. BTW, how fast are you claiming that the earth is traveling through space around the sun? How many miles per second are you claiming the earth is moving while spinning?
What utter nonsense!

Lets see now, the earth is moving in it's orbit around the sun at about 67,000 miles per hour, so how can it suddenly stop? It's mass would not allow a sudden stop, but what do you think would happen if it did?

It takes 17,000 mph to overcome earths gravity , so everything on the leading side including all the water would just keep on truckin' and everything on the back side would be crushed, except the water and atmosphere which would be lost in space...The earth would be totally lifeless and probably resemble the moon.

The speed of the earths rotation at the equator is 1,038 miles per hour and decreases to almost nothing as one gets to the poles....If it suddenly stopped the atmosphere would continue to move at those same speeds and scour the earth clean right down to bedrock....Can you imagine the waves created by a 1,000 mph wind...The ocean would inundate the land and finish off what ever the 1,000 mph wind left.

So you can plainly see that the ancient writers had no idea what they were talking about when they invented these ridiculous fantasies.

Well, the writers of the Bible and Enoch and Jubilees and Jasher and the Dead Sea Manuscripts, which all correlate with one another, wrote what God said to write, and God says His sun in which He sits in His temple, in, on His throne in, runs its course/path/highway swiftly, from one extreme of heaven to the other, daily.

So you believe that you are traveling on a spinning satellite through space at the rate of how many miles per second, and how many miles pr second do you believe it is also moving around the sun in a yearly orbit?
