At what point do we pray, and stop believing that the answer to our prayers is "just coincidence"?

At what point do we pray, and really, truly believe that we received an answer to our prayers..

...and it's not some 'happenstance' thing that happened?

What SAY you?
Seems to me that so many believe that IF they pray, they're supposed to get an answer
immediately...or, it's 'no deal' in their minds.

AND, it's supposed to be the answer that they want, the WAY they want it.

When did Jesus ever say that?

I get answers to my prayers all the time. Not the way i wanted...not in the time I wanted 'it', whatever 'it' was....

And it's not by some 'coincidence'''; it's often specific.

Don't know why it doesn't happen for other folks...

I don't usually pray to specifically ask for things, I ask God to be with me. Or especially with my children, to protect them. But again, that really means, be with them, or member them. I don't expect God to give me things based on prayer.

Now Matthew 7:7 does seem to indicate that you do get what you want, when you want it so I don't know how to reconcile that but I think it will all come clear eventually.

O.K. But do you ever see the results of those prayers? Or that what you would consider to be the results of those prayers?

I don't see Matthew 7:7 the same way. Jesus/God never said "WHEN".

Oh yeah, I do. I mean I do see my children being protected during their days, running into the right teacher at school who can help with a problem, etc.

Well, since I (know), believe, for the peanut gallery, that there are no cowinky-dinkies...that answers that question.
Oh the list, I could give of UNimaginable things that I talked confidently to God about needing
for Him to take care of, you would not believe...basically saying, 'I know You will take care of
this.'' Lalalalala..
Then, going my merry way, cuz, of course, He ALWAYS does.
(But these are seemingly IMPOSSIBLE things....impossible.) Over and over for years.

O.k. So they're not "coincidences' for you

I've also been witness to the "impossible".

And, I got to a point where I didn't see those "things" happening as a matter of 'coincidence'...

At what point does 'coincidence' stop and faith begin?

I don't actually pray for answers, though I did when I couldn't resolve my questions of God's existence. Since that's been resolved for me, my prayers are for intangibles: strength, stamina, courage, comfort, peace. They are more of a reminder to myself that I am not in this life alone.

Depends on the heart of the person and if they are a right or left brainer...
I would think after the first time that something happened....at the least the 2nd time. Imo.

Prayer for me, is most often like turning the dial on my radio.

Trying to tune into the right " frequency "
