Not yet. They are waiting for the store to close down.

If you have to lock everything up it’s time to move on to other locations no?

They apparently don't need stores in those areas, so just shut them down.

Yeah. And it's made store owners/employees all jumpy and nervous accusing people of shoplifting when they're not. That's why when I go in, I make sure my bags are flat and behind my back and not in front of me or at my side so they don't think I have sticky fingers.

Self checkout also makes it easier for you to steal. You can deliberately not scan certain items and just walk on out and the alarm won't sound off. Pity, because I like self checkout.

Same with Macy's. They're all fussy now. Makes sense. People take advantage.

Yeah, I walked into Target on 42nd St last Sat and was shocked that just about everything including $4 liquid soaps were all under lock and key. There were also 4 police officers and one Security officer in the front. They had employees on every aisle constantly unlocking shelves for people. (Must be exhausting). Then when you do the math, they are paying employees at least $15/hr to constantly unlock some products that cost only $4 each, that could STILL be stolen anyway once given to the customer. I hinestly felt that having 4 police officers staged at the exit would be enough.

Blame the state Democritters and their bail reform law. Blame the BLM terrorists and their defund the police demands.

Bring back the Giuliani era anti-crime policies, start locking the skel population up, and these problems go away.

I'd be happy if they gave then six months in Rikers.

Get caught stealing and get marched over to stand in front of a brick wall with a big target painted on it, with a blindfold on. Problem solved.

No idea there was a Target on 42nd now. I always go down the side streets. I googled the location after I read your post.
