Well correct me if I'm wrong, but the cops were not ordered to stand guard and protect public property during Covid

They did however make plenty of arrests as a result of the riots that occurred (after the fact)

It's not that, it's just that I can't assume why people have guns
Maybe it is to protect themselves, maybe they got the gun simply because they're more scared of taking a punch to the face, I can't speak for other people. Some people just like going to target practice.

I'm sure if they received direct orders to stand in front of the Tweed Building and let nobody spraypaint it they would have obeyed orders. But no such directive was given.

I simply asked about the use of guns in self defense. No assumptions are necessary to know if the news reports that an armed citizen defends themself with a firearm.
