Oh my god kill me. Did you not read the article, look at the pictures? This is not some random squeegee men. They are basically mobile detailing rigs. From the looks of it they give a pretty good wash.
There were only 3 pictures and nothing in any of those pictures indicated "mobile detailing rig"
Mobile detailing, is when they come to you (usually in a van), wash your car, and leave
What the article describes is not mobile detailing:
"The black-market cleaners, who charge anywhere from $20 to $35 a wash, commandeer stretches of roadways like Webster Avenue in The Bronx, signaling their services with red and blue signs reading “car wash” and “auto detail.”
From morning to evening, the rogue cleaners spray dirt-caked vehicles with multicolored cleaning chemicals and hoses hooked up to water tanks filled using the hydrants."
Mobile detail, they don't use the hydrants
So I will reiterate again
Why would somebody pay for a car wash that is using a fire hydrant as a source of water, that's the question you need to ask
It's cheaper to wash your own car at the gas station, smh

Dude, its ghetto. There’s no big discussion to be had here. It’s illegal, disrespectful to residents, and an inconvenience to all. What else is there really to discuss here?

How are they making any money
That's what's to discuss
If they wasn't making any money they wouldn't be there
Who would pay them $20-$35 (as the article claimed) when you can do it yourself for $10 at a gas station. Vaccuum? Extra $2.

Forget it Jake, its Seventhfloor.
The guy thinks he is playing chess, when he can hardly handle one potato, two potato.
Tell us about one of these accidents you saw, I'm interested.
These guys work on the street. I've seen cars and both scooters collide and clip car washers on the street. Car wash van smack heavy into a park car behind a hydrant a block away from Burnside Avenue right next to usps postal parking on 179th and Jerome. How do I know. I park my car there. I'm on the street a good amout of time in the Bronx. I see alot of stuff. If you get a chance. Down load citizen app on your iPhone and you come across stuff with issues with Mobile car washes. However I commend those mobile car washers for doing honest work. Give credit where credit is do. These guys are also out there brick cold and flaming hot.

You don't seem to understand ghetto v non-ghetto mentality and the expectations that people have for their neighborhoods.
There would be plenty of people in LI suburbs who would gladly take a cheaper car wash but they're not willing to trade it off for a crappier neighborhood. They understand that the $20 they might save every few weeks on a car wash isn't worth the degradation of their neighborhood and the potential loss of $10's of thousands in property value.
Day laborers working on a house or doing lawn care contribute to the upkeep/improvement of a neighborhood. Third world style street vendors do not contribute to the upkeep/improvement of a neighborhood.

So who's fault was the accident

Stop trying to justify cheap labor that only benefits you
Money runs you too anyway

Do you think Westchester and Greenwich commuters are stopping for a quick fire hydrant-side detail on the way home from the office?
Come on dude. Stop. Its ghetto behavior. There’s no contrarian side to take here.
Well where are the ghetto people getting the money from? Why are they willingly paying these ppl more when it's up to a third of the price at the gas station?
Can we define what is ghetto for the audience? So we're clear.
