He's making it seem like they're making boatloads of money. I wonder what they do when the forecast calls for rain (sarcastic).
Whether they make boatloads of money is irrelevant. I'm sure some are better at it than others.
The problem is that this is why there are nice neighborhoods and not so nice neighborhoods. Do you think this would ever fly in a LI or Westchester suburb or even in the non-ghetto neighborhoods of NYC?

Supply and demand. It wouldn't fly because people wouldn't patronize it.

Residents of Webster avenue in Bronx say their complaints about illegal car washes hogging parking spaces, stealing city water/utilities and generally making a nuisance of themselves go unanswered.
Basically what you've got is seen elsewhere in city; bunch of eejits set up shop on city streets plugging hoses into fire hydrants and setting up mobile car washes.
I do inspections all over the city. In the Bronx you see these guys up and down Jerome Avenue, Webster Avenue I saw one on Arthur Avenue off of cross Bronx, one off of Bronx River parkway, one off of Westchester Avenue. And a couple off of Morris Avenue and one off of white plains road by Wakefield and two car washes on Morris Park Avenue just a block away from nypd transit Precinct by East 180th Street. Most of these guys are all Dominican and recent immigrants. The problem is that these guys make alot of mess and take up parking space. I've seen accidents happen with other motorist who collide with these illegal car washes. Despite it's ugly work, some of these are just trying to earn a buck vs other Dominican men who do Uber eat or doordash while transporting illegal drugs on scooter bikes across the Bronx. How I know? I see it everyday and withness a bust and arrest and saw a bike explode with drugs in it at court yard if a building while charging.

Tell us about one of these accidents you saw, I'm interested.

It’s better than these kids selling drugs or robbing people for some cash
