Residents of Webster avenue in Bronx say their complaints about illegal car washes hogging parking spaces, stealing city water/utilities and generally making a nuisance of themselves go unanswered.
Basically what you've got is seen elsewhere in city; bunch of eejits set up shop on city streets plugging hoses into fire hydrants and setting up mobile car washes.
Oh they are ALL over the Bronx. I see at least a dozen a day when I'm out. In a mile range is probably about 6.
Most seem like hard working guys trying to make money. I have no issue with that. I do have an issue with the ones who park in from of residential building and blast music. They are out all day, I'd say 12 hours. So that's not considerate to people who actual live in those buildings.

Drug dealers work hard too. Hard work is irrelevant here.
So many people here fine with them paying zero taxes into the local economy, stealing electricity and water from taxpayers as well as just being a general nuisance cauing traffic with double and triple parked cars.
But he they work hard
SMH
If you want to know the real reason these all popped up in the lat few years was because of, again, democrat law makers. They forced carwashes to pay a minimum wage. This caused many car washes to close and forced the workers to pick a corner and do it illegally.
Look up the documentary on youtube, even the workers didn’t want a minimum wage because they made a killing on tips only. But hey, politicians knew better. Now look.
Yup..............See it her in Queens especially along stretches of the many Queens Cemeteries.
Perfect location for ample parking and access to NYC water supply.
I remember times when car wash was $5 at night in queens.
I was my cars myself these days, but I did use one around me in a winter time once and the bill was $27. I couldn’t believe it.
