Vacation in Myrtle Beach...is it safe?

I went to myrtle beach last week and I have never seen so many poilice with cars stopped. Every time I even went no more than a mile from my hotel I would see at least 2 cops with people stopped...I know they have cracked down on loud motobikes but this seemed crazy. It was in the middle of the week and the people I saw stopped were older adults not teens,,,,I think anyone caught going just 1 or 2 miles over the limit were being ticketed.

Have been to Myrtle Beach several times, even married at sunset at North Myrtle Beach. We traveled up and down the main street (from Sea Mist to Family Kingdom and back) with me in a wheelchair and with our children at 10 o'clock at night. Never had a problem. Good common sense and being aware of your surroundings will go a far way. We stayed at Sea Mist every time and loved it. Staff was fantastic and the rates with amenities outstanding! We do the Family Package every time!
