I agree. But, if you're ok for the ride, the best I've found is La Playa in Pawley's Island. The best by far, especially the salsa whew! More authentic and not as tomatoie? Is that a word? I'll see ya at El Cerro Grande for sure! Brick

I'm aware of only one buffet in Murrells Inlet. I've been to nearly all of them and have only seen one. The string of restaurants near Dead Dog, Creek Ratz and all the way down to Cedar Hill Landing (small but great) have no buffet.

Sara J's you order from the menu (no buffet) and Admiral's Flagship is a seafood buffet. I don't know about Flo's. Many of the Murrells Inlet restaurants have the seafood buffet.
Baylovers, I believe the Gulfstream is now operated by the California Dreamer outfit which everyone seems to like. Went there before that and everything was great especially the view and the outdoor decks on the marsh. They had a good earlybird deal at that time too.

Haven't tried La Playa, but have tried Habanero's in Pawleys. You talk about some WARM salsa.. Wooo... but they do, or did, have great food and good prices. It's been quite a while since I've eaten there. I just don't make it down that way too much anymore.
Haven't been to LaPlaya either, but see the commercials all the time. There is usually a good crowd of cars in the parking lot. I enjoy Haberneros for the authentic Mexican food but it certainly not the fanciest place.
A good place to eat....J Edwards, K&W...are you kidding me? That's cafeteria food! I guess if you like buffets then you'll like these places. My idea of good food is fresh "made from scratch". You'll seldom find that at any chain restaurants.
I lived in Myrtle Beach for 10 years. We loved Drunken Jacks in the Inlet. It is family owned. I never had a bad meal there. If you're looking for a small family run business where the locals hang out, try Socastee Station. They are located on Socastee Blvd just behind the old arm force base. They offer daily specials just like your mom use to make...pot roast, meat loaf, home made pasta. Don't forget to get their signature dessert "Big Fat Chocolate Cake".....yum! Benjamin Bagels is a great place for breakfast. It's the closest you'll get to NY bagels. For lunch, Crystal Cafe is amazing. Great soups and sandwiches! The cook is an award winning chef. Everything on the menu is homemade including the bake goods. And, if you must visit a chain restaurant, Texas Roadhouse in Garden City is pretty good. Don't confuse them with Texas Roadhouse and Grill. They are two very different restaurants.
Great Food. Great Prices. Their steaks and seafood is much better than any restaurant in MI and much better prices. Actually I think i might go eat their tonight.
