We looked at a few home in Deerfield and would say that those with what we were looking for (Ranch, 3 bedrooms, two baths minimum) were mainly older homes, spacious but definitely in need of updating.
Some of the prices were well within our price range until you began to look at what may need updated (ie, baths, flooring, kitchen being the larger ticket items) the prices began to approach that same as constructing a new home.
There is still the unknown of what will happen with the old golf course that is currently on the market...for examply, we looked at a home with a back yard facing the old course...what if the land is sold to a developer and additional housing (ie single family) or condos (multi level) were to be constructed.
I will be buying a home in the Surfside Beach area and have pinpointed some great buys in the Deerfield Plantation. Can anyone give me their opinions on this area? I would like to hear them all good and bad.
