Hi Folks.
We're going down to Pawleys in a couple weeks and would like to know more about the following restaurants:
Landolfi's, Lumpy's and Mama Rues .
Does Landolfi's serve dinner? and is it casual?
Lumpy's always looks empty- is there good reason for that?
Mama Rues looks really tiny- is it more of a bar than restaurant and is the music any good?
thanks for any assist...

I don't know any of them but have you checked Trip Advisor? They usually have a lot of good info. and I've found it to be mostly accurate.

I was hoping somebody with good info would jump in here, but I guess it hasn't happened. I'm not much help. Have not eaten at Lumpy's and have not talked to anybody who has. It's probably been 8-9 years since I've eaten at Landolfi's. It's casual and they serve dinner. It's been around for quite awhile, with a good following and a good reputation for pizza, but I'm not much on designer pizza. Never hear much about the other items on their menu. Mama Rue's has apparently developed a loyal crowd. We had lunch there a couple times and the food was good, but it just never clicked for us. As I recall, one of the regulars on here really liked it, but she's been keeping a low profile on the forum for too long. We've never been there at nite for their music. If you try any of 'em, we expect a full report.

I love Mama Rue's. Haven't been to either of the other 2 places that you asked about. I would describe Mama Rue's as a sort of Jamaican juke joint. If you go, do so on a night they have live music and be sure to try their special drink, the Howling Wolf and also the crack burger.

Haven't been to any of those mentioned above. But just thought that if you're in the mood for Cuban/ Mexican food, try LaPlaya on Rt. 17. One of my favorites.

Did Landolfis for lunch today. If you like gourmet pizza you will enjoy it. Nice clean place with very good service. I do not know if the have a dinner menu. The menu at lunch was sub, panini , and pizza. The meal was good and at good prices. Plan to go to Mamma Rues tonight so may have a report lol later.
