I have to admit to having a weakness for Pizza Ranch on occasion. Of course, about an hour later I'm sitting around ruminating on the fact that I'm not 19 anymore.

I stopped going to Old country buffet after a friend who worked there told me that the workers would drop the food on the floor, and then still put it out. It's the one in Richfield if anyone is wondering. He quit because they did that.

Boy, that story sure pops up about a lot of food places. I wonder just what percentage of the tales are actually true. There are numerous stories of ACTUAL foodborne illnesses linked to specific restaurants. Can anyone cite an example where an illness was traced back to Old Country Buffet? Today I'd probably avoid it because it probably sources all its ingredients to agribusiness which produces McFood for maximum profit. I'd rather seek out restaurants that care more about what goes into their menu.

Old Country Buffet? Lol, I'm suprised that place is still around. Didn't their parent company recently go bankrupt? On the topic, Popeye's is much better than KFC in my opinon.

Wow, got them when the franchisee went bankrupt. So it turns out it has nothing to do with KFC itself. Was that mentioned here?

Just stopped and had a meal at the Brooklyn Park Popeye's on Brooklyn Blvd. (it's an outparcel in front of the Target anchor to the strip mall whose name I don't remember) this past Monday (3/18). The food was about as good as my first Popeye's meal (very good), but my only criticism is the parking lot is too small and the drive through lane clogs up the lot and does not have room for a parallel lane for others to pass to leave the lot opposite it's entrance. But that is likely a consequence of the franchise's popularity that the drive through had 5-8 cars in it during the duration of my stay.
Unfortunately, the Crystal Popeye's (on Bass Lake Road) did not appear to be open yet.

Popeye's is freaking delicious; far superior to KFC any day of the week. They had better get it figured out quick though, if too many of these locations remain unopened they will fail before they even begin.
