I want to spend some time in miami this year. (Will probably stay at the marriott stanton south beach)

I like nightlife but i also want to be able to sleep and relax.
Because of that i want to avoid masses of drunk partying spring breakers.

My question is pretty simple:
When does the sprink break end in miami? Can i already visit in april or should i wait somewhat longer?

Thank you.

Well in this case i think i rather wait until may. +/- 1 week doesn't really matter and so i'm 100% sure, right?

I would absolutely not go near South Beach. I don't think people understand how it is now. It's not the old days. It's now the ghetto wild wild west.

I am from Miami and NONE of my Miami friends will go anywhere near it and haven't for years

I have no intention of going to SoBe until end of April.

Even if you don’t go there you still can be impacted a bit on the mainland. I took Uber from Brickell to Amara at Paraiso in Edgewater over the weekend and there was a ton of traffic on Biscayne Boulevard trying to get on to the MacArthur and Venetian Causeways heading to the beach. Ditto from the nearby Julia Tuttle Causeway that I noticed once at Amara.

+100

I visit back constantly for business/seeing friends, never step foot in SoBe... it's become such a dump (it was always trashy post 2010 ish) but it's unbearable now.

I am really found of South of Fifth, but I stay away until Spring Break is over just because the traffic is bonkers. South Beach could fix its problems if wanted to. Up to the politicians over there if they want to get rid of the Spring Break stigma.
