Hey Houston. I have a relative who lives out there and I'm planning on visiting this spring break from April 3-12. (2010) I am coming from the BX,NYC My relative is a little bit older than me and doesn't get as active as me. I'm 29 and I wanna know how's the weather that time of the year, what's to do, etc. I'm into outdoor-like things. I heard there's a beach close by so I definitely want to see that (if it's cleaner than our beaches...lol) How is the nightlife? I am open to almost any type of social gathering (club, lounge, etc.) as long as it's open to diversity seeing as I am black and wish to make it back to my hood noose free....lol. I'm not here to find out how hot the ladies are, because I plan to be amazed just seeing texas sistahs...Yea boy!!! Unfortunately I am allergic to Heavy metal and country (sorry TX) other than that I would just like feedback from all types of houston folk who live and enjoy houston. Haters go play in traffic. How would you suggest houston to someone for a spring break trip is what I am trying to say...Thank you and enjoy your day.

Galveston is great and you will enjoy spending a day there. Splashtown is a water park in Spring. I dont think it will be open yet. Lots of nightlife in Midtown and along Washington Ave. You dont have to like HM or Country to get along fine here. Houston is very diverse and is not a sterotypical Southern Confederate flag waving city. Check out the House of Blues. Discovery Green may have an outdoor concert during Spring Break.
