You read my post and THIS was your takeaway??

How long have you been in California?? I would say your situation was unusual & you were unusually fortunate.

Not the only takeaway, but the only point I felt required a response.

I have been in California (three different locations) for 55 years.

That’s nice, I was born there, lived there longer than you, moved.

The only time I get frustrated with tourists is when
They drive too slow ., 5-10mph under the speed limit.. and won’t pull over ..
Maine gets 25-30 million tourists a year our roads weren’t set up for this

I don’t know 99.9999% of Mainers .. I was born and lived here all my life
And I travel around the state frequently

And with Mainers it’s the golden rule .. you’ll get what you give

One of the things I love about Maine is the taciturn persona. Chill folks in Maine don't get riled up very easily, but the deadpan tonailty and the understated delivery can come across as aggressive to certain types.

Maine? I was there a few times, mostly Belfast and Bar Harbor. If you got two words out of people's mouths it was a miracle. I'm from the South and we're friendly and outgoing, it was a total shock seeing what the vibe was like there. I'd never experienced anything like it before or since. I had been warned, but thought people were kidding. They weren't.

No, not Maine. You didn't read the article!

It's never everyone else.
