Tens of thousands of solid and upper middle class families from NYC have moved to LI over the past 3-4 years. Is this leading to improvement in those towns due to a wealthier stock of inhabitants? Are schools improving due to a better student population? Are towns putting the newfound tax revenue to good use? Theoretically, this exodus from NYC (aka money) has to lead to improvement since the working and lower middle class can't afford LI (at least Nassau) anymore?

Depends upon the town. Wealthier town attract wealth, average town attract the less desirable. Don't forget about the migrants who are coming to live with their extended families. All of the exodus from NYC is not beneficial financially.

Are there “less desirables who can afford $700K+ homes? That’s about the entry level price for any halfway decent town in Nassau nowadays.

Why do you assume people moving from the city would improve the schools? I don't get that at all. Historically people have moved to LI for the better schools. Please explain.

What increased tax revenue? Are there new housing developments springing up all over, that contribute to the tax base? Are these people opening businesses that contribute to the tax base?

The data suggests that NY has a net loss of residents which means they are not moving out of NYC to LI or upstate. They are moving out of NY completely. What's the point with moving to a town that has a good school which usually means high taxes. When you can simply enroll you kids to a good private school. A lot of NYers prefer enrolling their kids to private and not have to move and have much better accountability of their kids' education. NYC failed its resident when DeBlasio removed academic requirements because he's a failed parent himself.

Because those that can afford $800K+ homes tend to value education? I’m not claiming LI schools are bad. I’m claiming they might be getting even better, as in more academically rigorous.

Increased tax revenue from property taxes and local sales taxes? What percentage has the average property tax increased over the past 4 years? 20%?

Yes. I know of a lot of idiots that live in NYC and send their kids to ****ty “private “ schools. Just because a school is non public doesn’t mean it’s good. Virtually the entire catholic school system in NYC has turned into a POC charter program. They’re not good schools. They’re just not as bad as hood schools.

The real private schools in NYC cost $30K+ and it’s not for anyone pulling in less than $300K household.

It’s a matter of scale. How many section 8 apartments or
migrants are there in Jericho or Syosset? Merrick? RVC?

RVC has its own housing project. You aren't getting into Jericho or Syosset at 700K. Maybe Western Merrick on the Roosevelt border.

Why would you think towns would get better because some NYC transplants moved in?
