But actually, to be fair, Chicago & Galena have no shortage of tourism. If you ever do make the trip out to Galena try to make a stop in the neglected cities of Rockford & Freeport. They might be up your ally with the old school urban grit you mentioned but they often don't get any love, especially on this forum.

Kraftask, I may want to visit Rockford. I just had a date last week with a lady from Rockford (and we met in Lake Geneva).

And my dad always loved Galena!

Another city you might get a kick out of is Beloit, WI/South Beloit, IL. Near Rockford, that city also often gets neglected too but still has the old urban gritty feel plus you might find it interesting how it straddles the state line.

Kraftask, thank you, again, my friend!!!

Enjoy the day!

I was in Gurnee yesterday, in the mall.

I DO recommend Lola's Tacos and Tequila restaurant, on the west side of the mall!!!!

Gurnee Mills? That mall brings back memories. I used to push my daughter's mom around in a wheelchair there while she was pregnant back in the day lol I think that's still her favorite mall in the area.

Kraftask,

Yes, Sir, Gurnee Mills Mall.

Sounds like it's time for you to go check it out and reminisce.
