Duhh.. I looked up dewpoint, not RH. Stated it wrong! Good catch.

It was the date that I posted the info, from the National Weather Service website. Present dewpoint is 49F and RH at 20%.

By comparison to the desert SW, Las Vegas dewpoint right now is 33F. Dewpoints here in VA are well up into the 60's and often get into the low 70's in summer. Hoooomid!

Bonner County is being a lot more responsible as far as fireworks. I was a little aghast at our sheriff in KC not banning fireworks. Is that even his call?

That is typically a city council or county board decision. It has to follow Idaho statutes. You may have seen this; which refers to fire districts also being able to do so:
