I think the skating rink was called Gold Coast, at least there was one called that in the 70s. About half a block west of Federal Highway. We always considered it one of the more exciting skating rinks.

I was living off Oakland Park Blvd in 1984 for a month while we were waiting to be accepted into Bonaventure. I never went to the skate place but I remember it, in the late 80's we had a movie theater with reclining seats, ashtrays and it served beer also, forget where it was, out west somewhere, I think on Commercial Blvd.

Does anyone remember that 80's dance club on the East side of Fed Hwy just north of Commercial? Also, wasn't there a big "disco" in the early 80's in Hollywood (I think west). Is Shooters still around?

The only club I pretty much lived at was Fat Cats on 441 close to Hallandale Beach Blvd in Hollywood, I think it closed its doors in 1983 and I was at Mr Laffs which I think was on University, My buddy managed it till around 87 88. The band Orion was the house band at Fat Cats and I partied with them regularly.

Was Shooters the club on Oakland and the Intercoastal....trying to remember. Summers on the beach was my favorite in the mid 80's
