I'm pretty sure the courts backed DeSantis up on that too.

That makes DesSantis more likeable, not less likeable...to Floridians anyways.

Most people like when elected officials are held accountable.
If you removed chicago metro area, IL would be a very conservative state. Southern IL might as well be part of Missouri and Kentucky except chicago controls it.

That's why IL is so corrupt, both parties actually from the chicago area. They had some bad Republicans too.

Southern IL starting at St. Louis on south (little Egypt) wanted to form a new state for years as it has more in common with the nearby states and upper south. I'm all for it! Would give the senate and house more Republicans!! Would mind southern IL becoming part of MO as well!

Less than half of Floridians approve of him.

Just barely over half (56% according to the right-leaning data services) of his own party approve of him. That means almost half of them do NOT approve of him.

Take-away: around half of Floridians, of any party and no party, disapprove of him and would not vote for him again as Governor, and certainly wouldn't want to see him in the White House.

Gerrymandering will of course skew this hard to his side, but that's really the only way the GOP CAN win in Florida. If the state relied on one person = 1 vote, and every individual person's vote counted, then he would lose.

The mainstream media has pulled out the stops to make DeSantis seem unlikeable.

It is what they do. They always build up Democrats while bashing conservatives. Like the way they pulled out the stops but failed to make Kamala Harris or Hilary Clinton likeable, but that didn't stop them from trying.

The media are pure evil. They don't even pretend to be unbiased anymore. They are asolid propaganda arm of the Democratic party, and are making no bones about it to try to hide it anymore.

Any conservative who is poised to win office is going to be demonized by the evil mainstream media.

I think that you are dreaming (wishful thinking). DeSantis won reelection with a substantial margin and I have no doubt that if another election were held tomorrow, he would win again with a similar margin.

BTW, gerrymandering has ZERO to do with statewide elections. It's "one man one vote" for the whole state regardless where you live.

Ron DeSantis Is All In—on Creating an American Autocracy
DeSantis is not a backslapping politician. He has few social graces and no appetite for socializing, preferring, his staff claims, to spend his “non-office time” with family. As his one-way relationship with the legislature shows, he extracts favors but rarely returns them. “Most politicians, you gain respect from your colleagues and your peers by working with them, by not being a jerk, by having good conversations and good relationships,” says Fried, who now chairs Florida’s Democratic Party. “He cannot do that. So the only way that he’s going to be able to move his agenda is through fear and intimidation.”

if the dems nominate some liberal clown.....DeSantis will win in a landslide

elections are won and lost on who's running....not approval ratings

Trump is funny. Ron is not. That's why he's so low in the polls. Ron isn't tested that's why his campaign is cratering. All of the FL Republicans bowed down to him as the next coming. He beat a crackhead and corpse, suddenly he thinks he's ready for primetime.

Wow don't even know what to say to that - so the criteria for president is they must be FUNNY??? I did vote for Trump last time; but NOT because of his personality - frankly I can't stand the man or his buffoonery, narcissism and other negative traits. I voted for policy.

I agree with others that the crooked bought and paid for media is nothing but a propaganda machine to put out their own narratives, which is that "DeSantis is bad". Sad that so many can't think for themselves. Our species is doomed........
