Seniors are by far the wealthiest age cohort of any age cohort.

I would have thought that they feel very much at home in Florida.
Not many but some. I've met plenty in Georgia who wanted to move up here for the more laid-back culture and hospitality. But nowhere near the numbers of the black and LBGT communities.

Hispanics are very mobile and move freely around Florida and the US in general.

Of course...NY'ers have been moving out since the 1860's when the 1st railroad was completed. Many continue to do so for a myriad of reasons.

Many NY'ers move from FLA to the Carolina's, & there's even a term for them.."halfbacks".

1-2 years of the Florida heat is usually enough to chase many of them away...many stick too.

Some move to FLA in their 60's when they're independent, then leave to be closer to family, in their 80's...when they need help.

I've found 2 groups of NY'ers to be quite different...NYC transplants, & NY State'ers, from outside the city...very different in many ways.

Wouldn’t think any of that if one spent as little as a few hours in Orlando or Fort Lauderdale.

Anyway, most people are moving here from somewhere else in Florida or from the Caribbean/Central/South America. That, "everyone is from NY" is nonsense.

Florida Seminole County 10,288
South America - 8,122
Florida Miami-Dade County 5,872
Florida Osceola County 5,759
Florida Broward County 4,137
Caribbean - 3,348
I believe that. After South Florida, Orlando metro is the second most popular area to move to for the Brazilians.
