As someone who's lost several family members to Covid, I'm happy life has gone back to normal but I'm still very interested keeping an eye on the Covid stats. Now Florida has this Leprosy thing going on as well.

This thread is for discussing COVID-19.

This thread is not for: bickering, name calling, and pondering the merits of keeping the thread open. Posters who don’t wish to write constructive comments about COVID-19 here should be able to find threads throughout the forum that will be more interesting for them.

Yep, it’s still here. My husband tested positive on Saturday and today was my turn. We made it through the first two years of the pandemic in Pennsylvania without getting sick. Since moving to Florida last June we’ve both had it twice. This time was practically one year to the day of our first round.

Do you know how your husband got it? Does it seem he got infected first and you caught it from him?

Yes. Both times he caught it first and infected me. He is very involved in AA and attends several meetings a week. Since that’s just about the only thing we don’t do together I suspect that is where he got it. Apparently some of the meetings are very crowded. He’s in his seventies and no one wears a mask at the meetings so he doesn’t either. His participation is really important for his sobriety and mental health so I can’t exactly ask him not to go.

My mom stopped going to AA meetings in March 2020 because of COVID and she did go back to drinking. How are your symptoms?

Now is it as serious as it first was, no, so people can do a great deal. However being careful is wise to avoid hurting others. Now the death rate has dropped significantly, but people are still dying, so why not show compassion and care?

235 people in FL have died in the last 2 weeks.

Thank you, I wholeheartedly agree 100%!

Very sorry to hear about your mother’s relapse. He’s decided to attend noon meetings for now after he’s better since they are sparsely attended.

Our symptoms were different. His primarily affected the GI system and he couldn’t keep anything down, not even water. I have lots of congestion and feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. Bad headache and body aches.

Thanks for your concern.
