* condo fees that avg $550/mon
* special condo assessments that when levied, prevent people from selling thier condos
* neighbours throwing thier old furniture into other people's back yard
* neighbours having a bonfire BBQ on thier front lawn
* construction projects, that in the NE take just 3 months to complete, take 3 yrs to finish
* incompetent & corrupt city govnt
* the worst telephone company in the world - Bellsouth - whose employees dont even know what services thier phone company offers
* receiving a call in the middle of the night from the police alerting you your spouse was arrested for having sex with 2 others on the beach (workers story)
* co-workers that want to know what underware you are wearing and how you like to have sex
* cubans
* waiting for 8hrs in the immigration line only to get to the immigration booth and be told by the immigration officer "I dont know. come back in a month"
* grocery stores being closed down due to rat infestations
* Rising HOA fees because the lover of a cheating spouse took a gun, climbed the gated community fence, and shot both his wife and her lover before killing himself... now current and future residents pay until eternity for the HOA negligence since they erected a climbable wall
* insane traffic jams from the Elian Gonzales scandal
* airport improvements that take 10 yrs and millions of $ in cost overruns to complete
* "Hablas espanol?"
* corrupt judges who are bought off by lawyers to grant biased verdicts
* $500K homes next door to squalor neighbourhoods
* homes being built in a powerline field
* TSA agents seen sleeping on the job
* Unrepaired roofs after the last two hurricanes because insurance companies dont want to pay out the money and then stop insuring alltogether forcing people to insure through the bankrupt, govnt run CITIZENS INSURANCE, who will now double premiums.
* My bosses car having had both leather seats and canvas roof stolen in the gated, security supervised company parking lot in broad daylight.
* Waiters adding tip upon tip to your restaurant bill
*Condo conversions of 50 yr old apt buildings and then selling them for $500K each
* Giving the car in for an oil change and then getting it back with the same dirty oil... this time half empty.

These were SOME of my recolections during my 10 yrs in Miami.

Welcome to Miami everyone

Hollywood - Boulevard Heights 4/2 $269K
Estimated value $315k. This is a handyman special with minor cosmetic repairs. The major repairs will be performed prior to sale. New roof has been installed.

couldn't copy the picture, but it looks like a crack house.

Traffic and non-descript street corners.

At this corner, there are a combined total of 28 lanes. It's hard for pedestrians to feel safe here, and in fact, this is one of the most deadly streets in Pinellas County. This is Alt 19, the real U.S. 19 is even deadlier.

Dan Burden (former safety coordinator for the state of Florida): “All of those roads were built without any consideration for the pedestrian. They weren't an afterthought. They just weren't a thought at all.”

On the Gulf Beaches many of the municipalities have created pedestrian zones where cars must yield. The problem is that many vacationers and snowbirds are unfamiliar with these new zones. I've seen many times when one car will stop and another won't. In one case I witnessed, a man hurled his soft-drink at an offending vehicle.

Unfortunately for the bird in the foreground of this photo, the sign doesn't mention wildlife
(maybe it was too far outside the crosswalk?).
