Sadly, US 19 is one big eyesore. There are eyesore parts of roads/highways in almost any city/town, but US 19 is just miles and miles of ugly.

Sorry, Bucfan, but this is one time I disagree with you. US 19 is ugly, congested and horrible from St. Pete on up through several towns north (many many miles). SR 60 is bad for a few miles then it kind of turns into countryside. To me, no contest.

For me, it's the Florida Keys. The tropical weather, the blue waters, the laid-back feel, the great seafood and the (mostly) friendly people are the best that Florida has to offer. When I moved to Miami, I chose an area as far south and west as I could without making my commute to work a nightmare, just so I'd be closer to the Keys.

Not bad once north of sr50 and once past Crystal River its countryside all the way to the border.

In Spring Hill US 19 is named "Commercial Way" and for good reason.
