Long shorts on women is very aggravating. It almost makes me want to set fire to an orphanage. Ladies, if you can pull it off, the perfect length of your shorts should be right at the crease where your butt meets your leg. ; )

Uhhh ... notice the OP's location? The US isn't the only country with "hang-ups and insecurities", you know. Besides, what's wrong with recognizing that different subcultures have different styles of dress? It's all a part of identifying with that subculture, and feeling like you're part of it.

FWIW, I live in a city with a very large lesbian community. Board shorts are the norm among the during the summer months.

FWIW, I don't think longer shorts are anymore flattering on lesbians than straight women. But people will wear what they like, regardless of whether it's flattering, and that's just kind of how it is.

Longer shorts = lesbian? News to me. Most of the trendy mall shops around here are selling Bermudas this year. You don't see many lesbians shopping for clothes at Loft. It's just...not a lesbiany kind of place.
