Reasons why Detroit will hold off Minnesota for the AL Central - the Tigers have a 3 game lead with a little more than a week to play and play the last week of the season at home.
2 game lead, they have to play Minn for 4 then they play Chi Sox while Twins play KC. Detroit better win more then 2 games out of the 4 when they play but I don't think they will.I believe Minn will pass them right by.

At the time I typed the post you quoted, the Tigers had a 3 game lead.

Interesting theory. Detroit better win more than 2 of the 4? So if they win 2 of the 4, you think Minnesota will pass them right by? For that to happen, Minnesota would have to sweep KC while Detroit, at HOME, gets swept by Chicago. I do NOT see that happening.
If the Tigers win 3 of 4, they will officially clinch the division. Even a series split means Detroit will be 2 up going into the seasons final 3. If Detroit only wins 1 of the 4 games, then its a tie for 1st with 3 remaining. So, basically, only a Minnesota sweep would be disaster for Detroit. IMO, the pressure is on Minnesota.
A team that has a led for almost the whole season, then suddenly has a team right on their heels has to be pressing a little. I would say the pressure is more on DET than MIN. The Twins aren't even supposed to be here, and have already exceeded expectations, while the Kittens are just fighting to salvage their season.

See to me the Twins were the AL Central favorite coming into the season. I do agree there was more pressure on Detroit because they led the division most of the year (and have handled that pressure well, already doing what they needed to do, which was win 2 of the games against Minnesota), but the Twins IMO are the most talented team in the AL Central.
Reasons why the Twins will be at home watching the posteason:
-Carl Pavano couldn't locate pitches in the clutch
-Magglio Ordonez finally decided to get a big hit
-Brandon Lyon didn't gift wrap them the game this time
-They play in a dome. God hates baseball domes.

Maybe to you, but not to Vegas, preseason odds of winning WS:
DET: 20 to 1
CHW: 22 to 1
Twins: 30 to 1
