I have two kids (4 year old and 1 year old) and will be attending UT for grad school. Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with the UT Child Development Center.
I am relocating from the Pacific NW and my son goes to a very good Montessori here. I don't seem to many options at this point anyway since most schools are already booked but I have been offered a spot for my kids at the UT CDC.

I would really appreciate your input!

Thanks.

Is that the Lab School? If so, it has a great reputation. If it's a separate day care at the school, I'm not sure.

If you're paying the student prices for tuition then it will be very tough to get a better deal as you'll be paying ~70% of market value for a good child care center in the Austin area.

Tuition & Fees, Child Development Center, The University of Texas at Austin

You'll be paying $1300 per month for your two kids while a good school for both at those ages would probably run you around $1850 for both. You will easily save $500 per month and I've heard that the wait-list is normally over a year to get in, so if they're letting you in immediately, you should take advantage of it.

I've heard more good things than bad about it in general and the Lab School is definitely different than the CDC. http://www.he.utexas.edu/clf/index.php (broken link)

You're unbelievably lucky to get a placement coming in like this and you should absolutely take it. I was on the wait list for well over a year and couldn't get my son in.
