The first woman to serve on a jury was in what town in Wyoming? First woman to serve anywhere in the country. What town, what year?

Eliza Stewart (Boyd) was the first woman to serve as a foreman on a jury in March of 1870 in Laramie, WY. That year Laramie, WY made history having been the first town in the United states to have women serve on a jury. They had six women on a jury, I believe the it was the same jury that Eliza was the foreman.

I knew this only because I stumbled upon it recently... my wife thought they started in AR and we researched it out of curiousity.

The answer is The Golden Rule store. After something like 3-4 stores opened I think, he changed the name to JC Penny's. Also, I think he was the first to call his employees as associates.

I am impressed. Cash was his middle name and your are correct that the Golden Rule was the first store because he wanted to be handled like his neighbors.

Give it a shot. Your doing great so far!

This may be the last one I know or can give, as I am a little bit of distance from you guys...

I am sure that most of you know the area that has large fiberglass cowboy boots around town. So what city is it, and how many are there standing around town.
