No, imo it would have been better to leave it alone rather than correct it to viola. Just reading it gives me the shivers. It's hard to imagine someone who knows wallah is wrong, doesn't also know viola is wrong. So far as Bugs Bunny and maroon, years ago, Edna Ferber was being interviewed during her elder years and repeatedly pronounced Cimarron as Bugs would have said it.

And I thought Dirt was the one who stepped up to the plate! (Grinder)

Actually RIP refers to the direction of a cut in relation to a board.

If you cut a 2x4 length-wise then you are ripping it...and now have two 1x1's possibly.
Had you cut across it's length you would have made a cross-cut.
