Back to the "fiction novel": "In Cold Blood" was described as "the first non-fiction novel" when it was first published - thankfully, that literary term didn't catch on, but perhaps those presently writing or speaking of "fiction novels" are attempting to avoid confusion..
It seems to me a more accurate description of the genre would be "narrative non-fiction".
In a long, rambling, and somewhat incoherent post in the NJ Forum, a young man shared these thoughts with us:
“I finally started seeing a therapist and after talking about my hole life…I was flirting with a chick I new for a while…currently still in college I'm in my senior year…I come here for advise”
Hmmm...in addition to therapy, perhaps he should consider some additional English courses...
One person responded with the following advice:
“You should be sewing wild oats now lest you regret not doing it later in life.”
I read that post. I'm sorry I wasted those minutes of my life.

+1
While I am empathetic with that young man, it is clear that he has many problems, and the internet is not likely to provide a solution to those problems. He clearly needs talk therapy and/or medication, as well as much better English language skills if he is to be successful.
P.S. Did you like the question that I posed to the person who told him to "sew" some wild oats?
(For the benefit of those who did not see the original thread, I asked that respondent if he/she could suggest any appropriate stitches for the young man to use when he "sews" those oats. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response... )
