Some people should just not be allowed in a newsroom.

from City-Data threads:

fopah instead of faux pas

walla instead of voila

persay instead of per se

and of course, enormous numbers of people using 'your' when you're or 'you are' are called for

the first three above tried to spell the term or word phonetically - but if one has no idea how to spell a word, why use that word in your post?

and very few know that one can put a word into google.com, and the word will be spelled correctly for you and the definition will also be provided

And Chrome underlines words not found in the internal dictionary in red. Fix the error with right click left click. It is a smart feature.
A newsgroup of yore used walla as the correct spelling for established members. Correcting that in the thread revealed one as a newbie. There were other traps.

Sometimes the spelling and punctuation can be perfect but it is still nonsense.

I think it's odd when someone calls me out and corrects my spelling of "blue cheese". They insist it's "bleu cheese". No, in French it's "fromage bleu". The English spelling is "blue cheese".
I told the witch doctor I was in love with you.

If you want a top school system, go with either xxxxxxx, or The boardering town of xxxxxx.

Is there really a town where everyone lives in a boarding house?

Once again saw the commercial for a company that specializes in GI loans,

Just to continue the theme of border/boarder confusion, I have seen these homonyms misused conversely. When I worked for the child protective agency in my state, we had a few infants who were kept--long-term--in hospitals because there was just no other ready placement for these wards of the state. The term for these waifs was "boarder baby", but we had one caseworker who persistently referred to them in her written reports as "border" babies.

That brings another homonym mistake to mind! Several years ago, when I would bring my car to the dealership for service, the service manager would pen the following note on the repair invoice:
Customer is getting a loner car.

However, as long as I had a way to transport myself, I didn't particularly care if I had to drive an antisocial vehicle for a few hours.
