In the NJ Forum, a few months ago someone was extolling the virtues of the Middle Eastern restaurants in the city of Paterson, but he consistently spelled it as "Patterson". And, he claimed to have lived there!
For some reason I am reminded of a job application that was turned in at my place of employment. The applicant had listed that he graduated from Horse Man High School.
How could a person actually attend a school for four years and not know how to spell, or even pronounce, the name of his high school?
The school was named after the great educator Horace Mann.
