Jad a 9th grade english teacher make us try to figure out shakesperean stuff like the merchant of venice and others. for a 13 yr old, who wanted to think only about baseball and girls, i was shocked how much i liked it. if you made a mistake in grammer or puncuation, he made you pay him with candy bars.

Then there was Mr. ___, who taught on look up grammar.

I came from a one room country school and most of my teachers wore just out of a two year college and struggled to keep up with teaching 8 grade and including as much as they could. I didn't know a thing about the parts of speech or diagraming a sentence so had to spend all of my study hall and noon hour in her classroom trying to learn that. I hated it and was not to happy with her either. After 4 years at ___ and 6 years as an elementary teacher I came back to ___ and met her at a teachers meeting.
