Flammable and inflammable are synonyms. That was an extra credit question on my English quiz in grade school, and I got it wrong. I was very disappointed. Fortunately, I still got an A in that class, and every other English class thereafter. Too bad my impeccable English skills didn't transfer to my math skills
My verbal skills didn't transfer to math for me either; however, they were a lifesaver on all the tests I took. My enjoyment in reading a dictionary has stood me in good stead throughout the years.
"It started when a presidential candidate made a speech to blacks at NAACAP called Pickens. He was then labeled by them as racist. Wander why Republicans do not see speaking at NAACP events? You do not call yourself something your not because that would be lying. it like addressing a single as you; no difference really. You are not I."
This one is easy to mistype! I was working on an article about macular degeneration just a couple days ago and I mistyped macular wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME! I had to go back and delete all those extra
"ssssssssssssss". What a pain that was.... and I KNEW there was no "s" in the dang word.
I hate it when authors and writers start a sentence with the word 'and'. I also hate it when people use the word 'are' in place of 'our'. I see this frequently and it drives me up a wall!
I can't stand it when people say "baby momma" or "baby daddy". It sounds and look so stupid and ghetto. Why can't these people just say "my baby's mother" or "my baby's father"???????
OK, hate me. I sometimes begin a sentence with the word and.

So do I, when adding additional information.
Perhaps we can relieve some agony by alternating with 'additionally', 'also' or even get more dramatic and use the infomercial form... "Wait, there's more!!"
". . . and in this everchanging world in which we live in . . .."
That last "in" is like nails on a blackboard every time I hear it!
