St. Patrick's Day food:

Later, we are attending a party where cockles and muscles will be served, among other things.

Muscles is correct; they're having corned beef. [smiley face for those who take me seriously.]

Well, mussels are muscles, too, aren't they?

"One of them flang out of her car with the door to the car open, and she didn't notice."

Past tense of fling?

Speaking of muscles: I have a really good friend I've known since 1st grade. Scored 780 on his math, barely 400 on verbal. Never cared about English, to this day, we're in our 60's, I still get the craziest emails. The other day he told me he tore a bicept muscle. It's not always about lack of intelligence, sometimes it's just being lazy or not caring.

One of my brother's HS classmates was truly brilliant, but his spelling ability was... very poor. He graduated from Harvard, went on to graduate school at another Ivy (I forget which one), and later became a professor of Economics at Harvard. At last report, he still has great difficulty with spelling, but at least he has an editor when he writes his books.

Did the poor woman check the traffic before steeping into the road??

Can't wait for a mass have that destroys our completely automated infrastructure.

Here is a good time sink on building taxes.
And what is 'a time sink'? Is that like when you go to a crappy movie and say, "WELL, that's two hours of my life I'll never get back?"

Well, of course! She must have been British, then, luv - whipping up a brew & she didn't notice that the lights had changed.

The second one - I can't make that out. Nothing seems to scan. Anybody else have an idea of what that is?
