That's right, and everyone knows everyone in the UK has terrible teeth too - I've been there and I should know!
Many people on this forum say the same stupid stereotypes. Making assumption (like Ariete about Suburban USA), Drro and the Majurius (whatever the name) poster.
God knows why this thread is STILL open shouldn't it be moved to the Urban planning subforum?
you posted pictures of your neighborhood in one of the threads here, and it looks pretty suburban, not a single soul on the street, just some big cars parked around the street and some quite large suburban style homes.
but if you're happy like that having to drive and not seeing anyone on the street, and the entire area nothing but houses with everyone inside, then I am glad for u
So you take one pic of one street on one particular day at one moment in time and apply that to all suburbs. I normally skip over your posts cause what you say is usually meaninless drivel. As is your post above and all your trolling on this forum.
If you have a distate for humans, go find some interet forum with animals or pictures of art lol, and leave us alone.

oh yeah American suburbias are FULL OF PEOPLE WALKING AROUND, THRIVING COMMUNITIES FILLED WITH COLOR WITH PEOPLE OF ALL RACES LIVING SIDE BY SIDE, AND A SPECIFIC PLACE INSIDE EACH SUBURBIA DEDICATED TO ART, NIGHTLIFE AND LOCAL CUISINE!
my dad went out for a walk on the suburbia he was visiting around Raleigh and some idiotic person called the police, the cops went up to him and asked him, are you ok? are you lost? his reply was, I am totally fine I just came out for a walk because I always do... the cops took him into the police car and drove him to his hosts' home because it's weird to walk on the street!

that is how vibrant US suburbias are!!!
Florida is pretty diverse and maybe it doesn't represent all suburbia, but I can tell you that my neighbors on the left are Pacific Islander and Indian(India) in background. My neighborhood has many black, hispanic and Muslim families. It is very common to see people out an walking around every day, especially nights and weekends.
I also highly doubt that story you tell. It's frankly ridiculous and if true there is more to the story. Cops have better things to do than escort people home, nor do they stop people walking down the street in suburbia without cause.
Well, all I can say is that you must have either looked or acted weird, or you had weird neighbors, because I've been living in "Texas suburbia" for over twenty years and been a regular walker (along with many of my neighbors) and never once has anyone ever asked me what I was doing. And by the way, police are paid to be observant, so I wouldn't assume the worst if a police officer looked at me as he was driving through an area.
How long did you live in Texas suburbs and where was that exactly?
Austin. I would think it is generally agreed upon Texas is not walkable. It is way too spread out, everywhere. Actually, I did not see one walkable area anywhere, except some tourist destination like the riverwalk in San Antonio. Even if locals call it 'walkable', it usually means they don't know what real walkable, like in European cities, means.

Actually, I'd say that is a fairly accurate description of the Washington DC inner suburbs in Maryland and Virginia. But they are really a transition between suburb and city.
The nightlife isn't as good as it could be in the suburbs. However, the latinos in the area do try to make things a little more interesting during the warmer months.
