Is it for the money, for the social interaction, to be a part of the world in general and not watch life pass you by?

Depends on the job for me. If its some job where I'm alone, like delivering newspapers at 5am, than I probably wouldn't be as into it unless I was getting a load of money for it.

I think I'm more into the getting out of the house and interacting with other adults. It seems to do my brain and spirit good to get out there and work and chit chat about nothing in particular (current events, the boss, etc) with people.

If money were tighter (and I had a more flexible schedule) then maybe I'd change that view. As it is we're getting by (barely), so its not too critical what I do for work yet.

To survive, to pay the bills. I certainly wouldn't do it for the fun of it...

I hear that

I wouldn't either, except sitting home and doing errands all day doesn't exactly equate to fun and fulfilling either

Volunteering helps, but I haven't much luck with that. People aren't there to talk.

It's definitely for the money and not for the social interaction because I work alone my entire shift. I've also gotten bored because I just finished school and don't know what to do with myself.

But believe me when I say that I'm grateful for the job that I have now, because without it, I don't know where I would be.

Now I must work for the M O N E Y. I would love to be in a postion to work for the personal rewards- and will again one day, once the kids are on their own.

I've always considered any positive social interaction in the workplace to be gravy.

See I'd hate to work alone, unless I was at working from home. If money was an issue, then yeah I'd do it again, but I didn't like it.

I love my job! *ducking*

To be honest, I was perfectly happy being at home, but when my ideal job became available, I jumped like a frog from a lilypad. I am lucky to be there, and I know it. I am blessed to work with terrific people.

I work to survive and pay the bills.

I have found that I'm actually happier and way less stressed sitting at home than working the job I have, but as soon as the doctor says I'm better back to work I must go.
