Based on some of the posts I've seen from people who work in Human Resources, I tend to agree.
Didn't think of this. They sweep things under the rug. They also cover up things to favor someone higher up on the ladder, who might be dead wrong. At times, their goings-on border on criminal.

I don't agree with this one. Some of them have no other skills, and might be too lazy to acquire them, so they get paid for being given a higher than average dose of sex appeal. They get paid a "going rate," I presume, for their work. Sometimes, they are raked over the coals on pay. Furthermore, their lifespans are short when they realize they can no longer work in that field. Some move on to something productive. Some don't. I actually feel sorry for them.
Yes: School administrators. Many times, they are evil bureaucrats.
Nope. Many others posted about HR before I did. I'm agreeing. Why do you feel slighted? Or are you playing the namby-pamby political correctness card? This thread, by its very nature, is not about political correctness.
Maybe I'm being naive, but why does everyone here think of human resources staff as being so unethical?
Same reason folks consider Chris Christie fat. Simply because they are 100% unethical. I've seen this again and again, at US corps, whose total employment with subsidiaries would approach 7 figures.
In my life, I have met one H/R manager or exec I have known to be ethical.
Look at all the people on this board who are comfortable lying on a resume to get a job. How is that any more ethical than a fortune 500 exec?

HR has to be unethical because they are the people who reject you when applying for a job. Either HR is unethical or you have to admit to yourself that you weren't good enough for the job. Wall Street and fortune 500 execs are unethical because you either have to call them unethical or admit to yourself that you weren't good enough to become wealthy.
Well unethical doesn't necessarily have to do with a particular type of job unless you're a hitman or something.
Here are a couple things I consider unethical. The waitress/waiter who charges more on my card than I had indicated on my signed receipt. Call it a mistake, sure, but I have heard stories from people who used to do it. It's very common in the food&bev business from what I have heard.
I had a dentist who kept sending me mysterious bills well after an appointment had occurred and I was paid in full. They would make things up as to why they were sending the bill. And this was going on six months after I had visited them.
