Anyone know of any? USAA, which I normally would use, can't insure a second home if they don't insure our primary residence (which is overseas), and even the company they normally refer people to in such cases does not insure owner-occupied second homes (vs. rentals) in North Carolina. I also contacted the AARP-sponsored program through The Hartford, and they also could not insure a second home in NC. If someone out there has a vacation/seasonal/second home in North Carolina, and can recommend an insurance company, I'd appreciate it.

NC Farm Bureau Ins. Co. (branch offices all over western NC, and they are excellent)
I agree with Farm Bureau, or try Foremost. It is very difficult to insure secondary homes in NC without the primary/auto.
NC Farm Bureau's agents only represent that company. I would rate NC Farm Bureau as No. 1 for price and all around great service.
Foremost Ins. is sold by general agents who sell many other companies and there is an excellent general agency on 25N right there in Fletcher near the Feed 'n Seed.
